The Problem

Service delivery doesn't fail from lack of effort.
It fails when ownership, signals, and recovery paths are unclear.

📥

No unified intake

Requests arrive across email, chat, cron, dashboards, and executive channels, with no single system to capture, assign, or track them.

🔇

Silent failures

When jobs don't fire, stale data quietly accumulates - no alert, no trace, no blocker log. Recovery is reactive.

🧠

Memory-dependent follow-through

Follow-through depends on who remembers, not on a documented service rhythm with clear accountable owners.

The shift required: from AI assistance to operational follow-through, with accountability, measured signals, and clear decision pathways.

The operating contract: every request has a path, an owner, a trace, a decision rule, and a human approval boundary.

Why this matters for service delivery: the same model translates to environments where partner handoffs, customer-impacting work, KPI visibility, and escalation discipline have to operate with accountable ownership and clear human boundaries.

Live Execution Trace

The system doesn't just run. It proves what happened, what changed, and what needs attention.

Before: silent failure

Jobs could miss, stale data could accumulate, and the executive only discovered issues after they became visible.

After: controlled execution loop

The system logs state, refreshes stale artifacts, evaluates material change, and escalates only when a decision is required.

A cron job fires, reads status.json, captures the blocker, compares against history, and writes a health artifact. The business value is a provable operating rhythm.

[CRON] shopify-monitor triggered
[READ] status.json → ok: false
[READ] snapshot age: stale (72h)
[RUN] refresh_snapshot.sh → complete
[BLOCKER] [API] Access disabled
[COMPARE] blockers.md → NO_REPLY unchanged
[LOG] bot_impact recorded
[EVAL] material change? NO → suppress escalation
[ARTIFACT] health-check.md written

Infrastructure Layer

The operating discipline is grounded in infrastructure I built and verified myself.

dual-network DNS/DHCP, remote recovery, phased NAS validation, and sustainability-minded reuse on repurposed hardware

🌱 Sustainability as strategy, not slideware

A retired 2013 MacBook Pro rebuilt as a production Debian/Pi-hole appliance serving DNS and DHCP across two independent ISP networks. Resourcefulness and ingenuity over procurement — the circular-value lens from my Harvard Corporate Sustainability & Innovation training, applied to real infrastructure.

🔬 Ground truth over misleading signals

Diagnosed a degraded WiFi link by separating bogus driver-reported values from real radio statistics — the fault was physical placement, not configuration. Boot persistence was verified before the move, not hoped for after.

🔁 Lease migration, verified from both sides

Migrated DHCP authority from the ISP gateway using authoritative lease reclaim and tag-scoped dnsmasq ranges — then verified the full DHCP handshake in server logs and from the client side, proving ad-blocking end-to-end on both networks. Zero data loss.

🌐 Remote-only, including the failure case

Administered entirely over SSH and Tailscale. When the box went dark after relocation, diagnosed the root cause (static-only WiFi, no default route → no VPN either) and reasoned back in from the client side via a second machine on the same LAN.

🗄️ Phased NAS/storage validation with safety gates

The NAS path separates proof-of-concept file sharing from protected storage. Debby validates a private 62GB Samba/mergerfs pattern over Tailscale without disturbing Pi-hole, DHCP, SSH, or LAN authority, while UGREEN DH2300 is onboarded as the protected-storage platform under validation before any protected-data migration.

[DIAG] iw station dump → signal -97 dBm · retries 48/64
[EVAL] driver value bogus → trust radio stats
[FIX] clean poweroff → relocate hardware
[SSH] debby dark: wifi static-only, no route
[RECOVER] 2nd machine on LAN → ssh static IP → in
[VERIFY] signal -41 dBm → link stable
[DHCP] authoritative → stale gateway leases NAK'd
[VERIFY] DISCOVER→OFFER→REQUEST→ACK → pihole answers
[VERIFY] blocked domain → 0.0.0.0 on both networks
[NAS] /mnt/disk1 → /mnt/pool via mergerfs
[SMB] tailnet read/write validation → passed
[PHASE 2] dh2300.local onboarded → protected storage under validation
────────────────────────────────
dual-network migration complete · NAS POC validated · protected storage still gated

Same discipline as the operating system above: real signals over assumed ones, reversible changes, verification before declaring done, and no hardware sent to landfill to get there.

Why I Fit

These are the disciplines organizations need for senior-level service delivery.

Systems Design at Scale

Complex organizations operate across multiple service lines, products, and stakeholder groups. I design operating models with defined ownership boundaries, escalation paths, and signal loops that survive real organizational complexity.

Strategy to Execution Fluency

Senior leaders translate vision into delivery. I close that gap by converting ambiguous strategic mandates into concrete, accountable operating cadences.

Cross-Functional Leadership

Services strategy requires alignment across finance, product, comms, and ops. I build the handoff infrastructure that keeps cross-functional work moving without constant executive intervention.

AI as an Operational Discipline

Modern operations teams are increasingly betting on AI-powered growth. I have built and operated a private AI-supported operations sandbox, giving me a practitioner's instinct for where AI creates leverage versus where it creates risk.

Role Alignment

The same disciplines map directly to service delivery, workforce operations, and cross-functional execution.

Clearer ownership

Domain-bounded agents → cross-functional clarity across service initiatives. No relay, no ambiguity.

Better signals

Watchdogs and freshness checks → KPI visibility and operational readiness at leadership level.

Faster recovery

Blocker tracking and health artifacts → proactive issue resolution before escalation is required.

Stronger execution

Operational reporting, program governance, workforce-scale execution, and senior-level delivery discipline applied through a private portfolio system.
